APW Cruise – 100 Plus On Board!

ONE HUNDRED PLUS of your former APW classmates and their families have signed up for the 7-day class reunion cruise to the Western Caribbean.

The cruise departs from Tampa, FL on January 30 and will visit Grand Cayman, Cozumel, Belize and Isla Roatan.

Visit St. Bernadette on Marian Cruise

Our Marian pilgrimage, which begins on September 27, 2010, features a trip to St. bernadette’s childhood home in Lourdes, France.

Here’s some more information on this remarkable Saint:

A crystal coffin was made for Saint Bernadette’s body. She was placed in a chapel in the Church of St. Gildard at the convent in Nevers where she lived for thirteen years. She has remained undisturbed and on view in this chapel since August 3, 1925. The Sisters of Charity and Christian Instruction at Nevers are not secretive about the body of St. Bernadette. They welcome visitors, and encourage learning about the life example and messages of their sister saint.

Viva L’Italia… Long Live Italy!

What a FANTASTIC trip we had in the Mediterranean! It was not only beautiful and educational, but also very spiritual as well with both Father Palka and Father Blum saying daily Mass.

Some highlights for me were seeing the Pope, visiting the sites where the Saints once stood, having Mass at St Peter’s Basilica and having a prayer at Pope John Paul II’s tomb.

We visited so many places on the pilgrimage and cruise, and they all had special and different meanings for everybody that travelled with us.

What a great group and what a great time!

I look forward to travelling again with Father Palka and Father Blum to Alaska in 2010. Plus we’re going on a pilgrimage to the Holy Land in 2011. Hope you all can join us!

Back South from Alaska!

Our cruise to Alaska was simply amazing. What a great (but cold!) time everybody had.

The highlight for many was visiting the Hubbard Glacier. Sometimes the beauty and majesty of nature can overwhelm – the Hubbard Glacier was one such natural wonder.

Some of our guests also enjoyed going dog sledding. What an adventure and what beautifully stoic animals!

Of course, I have to thank Fr. Palka, Ron Queen and Bren Turner for going salmon fishing and bringing back dinner for the entire cruise ship! Yeah, that’s for sure just a fisherman’s tall tale. : )

But serious thanks goes to Wayne and Laurel Cobb for helping Fr. Palka with Mass.

We all had a great time and I’m looking forward to our next trip!
